This Tuesday, 24th April saw The Exeter Parent Carer Community Bake Off and Cake Sale.
With the Lord Mayor Counsellor Mrs Lesley Robson in attendance as one of our judges, along with Pauline Haggerty, Volunteer Coordinator of Wonford Community and Learning Centre, local residents, parent carers and even their children baked cakes for our Bake Off Competition and Cake Sale and all of the cakes donated and entered were incredible. Just take a look!
The judges seemed to enjoy their morning of official cake tasting it has to be said and everyone who attended seemed to enjoy eating cake and socialising, along with Stacy and I who really enjoyed the whole event. How lovely it was for us to open up the Parent Carer Cafe to the wider community and share our ideas and space.
The event raised a whopping £82 at the last count (and a little more has come in since) which will help us to complete our lending library of resources for local families. it has been such a huge success, we’d like to make it an annual event to help us with the running costs of The Exeter Parent Carer Network and associated services in the future.
We’d like to thank the Lord Mayor and Pauline for being our impartial judges, our volunteers Jo and Tara who kept all our visitors hydrated with tea and coffee, everyone who donated and bought cakes, as well as Wilko’s Exeter, Chococo, and Whittard for their kind prize donations.
Finally a special mention of our prize winners, Bobbie, Ann and Marion. Oh and Kianna, who received a special extra little prize for her contribution!
Thank you everyone for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at the next Bake Off!
